CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK - VULNERABLE SECTOR SCREENING

All Team Bench Staff, Volunteers, and Officials must have a Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 3 years before participating in any Minor Hockey activities.

HOW DO I GET A RECORD CHECK?

Begin by downloading the Police Check @ BBAMHA_VSC_Letter_2025-26.pdf

Fill in your full name, date, and the position you will be involved with (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, Official, etc). Once the letter has been completely filled out, scan or photograph the document making sure that it is clearly legible.

Then go to OPP: https://ontario.tritoncanada.ca/.../ontarioprovincia.../home to begin your VSC.

This process is now completed through OMHA via drop Box and is not done by our registrar or our risk and safety member. You can submit one you previously received from the school, soccer, baseball or anywhere else as long as it is valid. If you have one from another organization and submit it, it should be accepted through the drop box online and updated within minutes on your HCR.

More information and detailed instructions on the new VSC process can be found on the HEO website here: Vulnerable Sector Check | Hockey Eastern Ontario.  You will need to upload the completed request letter.

There is no fee for Volunteers completing a Criminal Record Check. Because officiating is a paid position, a fee will apply to Officials 18 years of age or older.

Once completed it will be kept for 3 years, but you will need to make a declaration each year.

If you have any questions or concerns please email to: [email protected], and Tracey will be able to support you!
